Q: What is a Pullet?
A: A Pullet is any female chicken or chick that has not started laying eggs.
Q: Do you ship live chicks?
A: No.
Q: Do you sell laying hens?
A: Rarely, only when we retire an entire flock.
Q: What does straight-run mean?
A: Straight-run means that we did not sex the batch of chicks hatched, nor did we mix in any other chicks, aka roosters. Therefore, you have about a 50/50 chance of rooster and hens.
Q: What kind of feed should I provide for my chicks?
A: We always suggest a quality Medicated Feed.
Q: What is the difference between a standard breed and a hybrid?
A: Hybrid breeds do not breed true, but will produce more eggs than standard/traditional breeds.
Q: Do I need a rooster for eggs?
A: Not unless your are wishing to raise/hatch your own chickens.
